Mother's Day

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day. Especially since most of you reading this are my favorite Mom's.
Mine started on Friday. Haley wanted to take me out to my favorite restaurant Lido's for spaghetti. The plan was to go out as a family but she insisted on it being just the two of us. This meant Ella's turn would be Saturday night. Anyway Haley and I had a wonderful time. She made sure the vase of flowers was right in the middle of the table for us to enjoy. She doesn't like it off to the side out of the way. We ate spaghetti together, re-enacted her favorite scene from Lady and the Tramp, sang the theme song from Barney "I love you, you love me..., and basically just gushed over our love for each other. I am sure we were quite the entertainment for the rest of the customers.
Then came Saturday night. Ella asked where I would like to go and I suggested Miguel's. Her response was a strange noise that indicated her displeasure at that suggestion. My next suggestion was Island's-another unpleasant noise. I then asked her where she would like to go. Her response, "It's Mother's Day mommy you get to decide". We finally decided on D'Lish. As we were getting in the car Haley decided she was going to go ride her bike. Ella quickly made a detour from the car to her bike as well. I said " Ella I thought we were going to dinner". "You can just go Mommy, I am going to ride bikes". Haley at this point comes running over, "I will go with you Mommy". Ella was not going to let that happen so she reverted back to her decision to go. Since I really didn't feel like sitting in a restaurant with my four year old I told her it was okay that we didn't have to go. She said "Okay" and skipped off to play. I guess I will have to rely on the older one for my sap.
On Sunday my wonderful husband woke up early to go buy me breakfast before church. My eldest gave me flowers and Ella wrote me a sweet card. They took me out to lunch. We also had a fun day of swimming. The night was reserved for my Mom and I had a great dinner at Tio Leo's (and yes I took the chips and salsa home again). I came home to find my daughters and husband had baked me a cake (more for them then me but they put up a good show about it). All in all it was a great weekend of getting spoiled. Haley has been asking me over and over when Kid's Day is. I informed her that Kid's day was every day but she doesn't quite agree.

Happy late Mothers Day Kara. I don't think I ever got a chance to say that to you last week.

You're a very loving, gracious mom to Haley and Ella. Your little man is so blessed to be in this family. (By the way to we have a final name?)
